Meet the Maker

Welcome to Brighton Tailoress! I’m Roxy, and I am a Dressmaker and Alterations Expert. I graduated seven years ago with a First Class degree in Fashion Design. Before starting up Brighton Tailoress, my industry experience was within the high end fashion market. I worked for Giles Deacon, (Pippa Middleton’s wedding dress designer). I assisted in making the collection for Spring/ Summer 2010, where i gained lots of hands on experience of woking with precious couture clothing.

From the beginning, the ethos behind every job at Brighton Tailoress, however big or small, has always been about perfection and attention to detail, whilst of course being affordable and friendly. I hope that this is what distinguishes my work, and has built up my loyal base of returning customers. Alongside the clothing alterations, i also took on commissions for bespoke wedding dresses, and i have spent the past six years since, developing the business.

I opened my first shop ‘Atelier Gold Bridal’ in May 2016 to focus on making bespoke wedding dresses, as well as altering wedding dresses for different wedding dress shops around Brighton & Hove. It keeps us on our toes over the busy summer months! This sits nicely alongside a steady and reliable flow of clothing alterations and repairs, which is what Brighton Tailoress is all about! Many of our clients are Men, so please don’t feel put off about bringing in a suit for alterations. You’re welcome too!

I offer private appointments to make sure that my clients needs are fully understood and its my aim to make sure that everyone leaves happy.
